Anyone on here who owns a Dacia Sandero? I am very seriously considering buying a brand new one as it cost the same as a 3 year old car from another make. I have read some very positive reviews about it but would like to hear from others too. They seem to represent very good value for money.

Not that basic if you go for the top of the range one, the Laureate. It has cruise control and speed limiter , all for less than 10k.

I do indeed have one and I reckon they are great value for money had no problems at all with it in 14 months......

The higher trim levels and better engines can push the price up but get the Ambience spec with the 1.2 and its still under 7K.... Central locking, leccie front windows bluetooth head unit with usb connection far better value than the access model with non of them for £600 less..... I would recommend it to anyone..... open the bonnet and all the parts say either Renualt or Nissan on them.....

Isn't that the car they always used to take the mickey out of on Top Gear? ^_^
They take the mickey out of James May for liking them but as he pointed out on the Chernobyl road trip he could buy 2 of the Sandero 0.9 turbos for the price of one the Fiestas 1.00 ltr Richard and have £500 quid change.... who's the muppet 8K for the Dacia or 16K for a fiesta?

They guy who works in the shop next to me bought a 1.2 brand new clio same engine (DF4712 I think) at the same time and paid 14K......

Sorry you've got me on my favourite subject (after bikes of course).... blame @roadrash

ah well,....... if your blaming me , then your leaving someone else alone:thumbsup:

I geniuely do like mine.... the 9 year old 1.6 8v Astra I had before was 85BHP and did 35 to the gallon cost £190 to tax £350 to insure Sandero 1.2 16v 75 bhp 45 to the gallon,125 to insure (0.9 turbo is fee tax) and £180 to insure..... and a new Astra to similiar spec to my basic original is well over 14k as the advert says 'You do the maths'

Why is that? Must say all of the one's we have owned have been OK.

Why on earth would you buy a rubbish new car when for the same money you could get a fantastic used one?
A four year old ford focus or a 7 year BMW (with astronomical running costs) wouldn't call either of those fantastic. they were the type of things I was looking at.....
