Yes, and no! There are more than enough stupid people around who buy top line items on a whim then sell on pretty quick so they can get the next must have trinket. Think about all the muppets that have the latest iphone or wide screen 3D TV that will be outdated or surpased within months meaning another 'upgrade' is required. It all gets paid for on a credit card and gets the purchaser another step closer to financial ruin (reality?).

IMO they are unlikely to be stolen as they come with the chargers and leads, unless they are stolen from a shop. If you are not sure about their legitimacy then move on and don't look back because even after you have paid a chunk of cash for them you will still always have that doubt which will spoil the purchase.

First though that when through my head. That said cycle shops were looted weren't they, so many better to steer clear?!

They've not sold many items so i would be cautious about them.
There also isn't much product information which seems a bit fishy and they don't even know the name of the lights they bought for over £300.

Seems they're also selling a helmet and a pair of shoes for exactly the same reasons. It looks a bit suspect but they have a good rating with enough numbers they're unlikely to be faked. So it looks like one of those maybe/maybe not items

Unlikely to be nicked: he's also selling a helmet, and if you look at his completed listings he sold his bike and shoes a couple of weeks ago.

EDIT: sorry for repeating what's above, that's what happens when you're halfway through posting and your cat starts playing with the power cable!

Impossible to know for definite but nothing especially dodgy jumps out at me.

The guy has lots of history on ebay and 100 % feedback. He is asking for payment by Pay pal which would leave a trail back to his identity / address so another good indicator. you could ask if he has original receipts.

Well done for taking care though, if more people did it would disourage scroats from using ebay for dodgy gear.

Sorry but where does it say a bike was sold?

£350 for lights?! That's a serous investment to sell them after a couple of months. My Spidey sense would be kicking off too.

Also it's difficult to take someone seriously when they don't know the difference between bought and brought.

Sounds quick to be selling something like this, you could contact the seller and ask them for a copy of the bill.
