Do Halfords keep customer receipts on their computer systems?

Specifically for bike repairs and services.

Just been mucked around by them and won't be using ever again.

But for now being able to get a copy of my receipt would be a huge help and they told me in store this isn't possible? Has anyone had one printed off?

@sarahale They can recall a receipt if you know the date and time you made your purchase - it's easier if it was a card payment as they can search by card number. I can't remember how far back they can go, but atleast a couple of months.

Thank-you for taking the time to reply. It's been sorted now thankfully but I did think at the time that they were fibbing about not being able to retrieve any sort of receipt.

I recently had to complain about shoddy (dangerous) workmanship and didn't have the receipt with me. The assistant said it was no problem and within seconds had found it via his till, so someone told you porkies or didn't know how to do it.

I do purchase some stuff off the halfords website(click and collect) but for bike repairs or servicing i go elsewhere.

Or it's not over it seems. When I apply my front disc brake the whole wheel moves dramatically to the left! Not how I expect a gold serviced bicycle to run.

The transaction will always be recorded if their system makes any kind of sense - on theEPOS system I use, as with all EPOS systems I'd imagine, I can see sales per item e.g. I can see I sold 3 widgets yesterday, one at 11:05 and two to the same customer at 14:23. I can further drill down to see the receipt so I can see what else was bought with the widgets. That data always exists because it's part of the sales data for that item.

The only question is how much effort they will put in to get it - I can get that data because I have full access to the back office, but the staff can't (although if you can give them a time and date they should be able to find it, but it takes ages)
