My LBS sold them, I was quite new to cycling, didn't know that far more fun to ride (for me) bikes exist. I got a Crosstrail which I bought on C2W to get my confidence back after a nasty fall and bad knee injury, barely rode it, then I got a Sirrus on
Impulse as thought it would be quicker on roads, never thrilled by it...which got stolen (but not before it contributed to chronic tennis elbow). I needed a bike to replace the stolen one, got a deal on the next Sirrus model up in
the right size with insurance money, hated it. Sold within 6 months and replaced with a road bike...had a few since then, never again Specialized. For me, dull to ride, dull stylistically and as common as muck around here

Ymmv however ;)
Whatever Ymmv means ??
Funny you mentioned Sirrus. In my never ending quest for comfort I seriously considered a carbon Sirus but noticed the riser (if thats the correct word) & stem are one molded item so you cannot change either the length or the angle.......which seemed crazy to me.

It doesn't seem physically possible to me, never mind crazy. What do you mean by riser?

Young men mate vigorously ??

I get confused slightly when people say a bike doesn't excite them ? Surely a bike is only as exciting as the way it's ridden.
Not so ime. I ride bikes in the same way and the experience can be very different

I have a diverge now having previously had a rim brake bike similar to Defy1 as it is much better for my needs.

The reason I changed was for disc brakes as rim brakes for me at 16 stone are very poor, I wanted a bike that would go off road so I could vary the riding a lot more and the Diverge has short reach / drop bars giving a less stretched out position while letting me ride comfortably in the drops for long periods. It is also smoother on road and for me more stable / handles better.

Best to test ride to see the difference.

I think its also called the head set/head tube. The stem comes off it and the bars fit to the stem.
I really know it as the whatsit which tells you the extent of my knowledge.

oh right - well that's pretty standard issue for road and fast hybrid bikes of that sort nowadays. Of any brand.
