Quick question and wondering if anyone can help.

Looking for a new company name and a couple of names are of dissolved companies (according to companies house). Does that mean that I can use the name? is that name now up for grabs, so to speak.

Can anyone advise at all please?

Thank you folks, and thanks for the link too.

I was looking at
BABY BUNDLE LIMITED
06278380
which was dissolved in 2008

Then again, there seem to be a lot of 'bundle' type names about so I might look at something a bit less common. I've had a cup of tea and a bit of a think since originally posting.

.... a friend was going to use his initials for his engineering company... RC Engineers... he didn't appreciate saying the name out loud made him sound somewhat ...unhelpful.
Saluki, what will you be doing/selling....keep it as simple as possible but ideally unique... that's why made up words work, but make sure it isn't something that can be easily mis-spelt, or forgotten, or people won't find you in searches.

RC Engineers :laugh::laugh:

I will be making and selling hampers for new born babies, presents for baby showers, nappy cakes and that kind of stuf. People keep having babies, baby showers are a growing thing as are giving nappy cakes so I thought that I would give it a go while its still a growing thing.

Never traded nor filed accounts. Neither Director appears to be involved in a similar business. If you are doing it online the uk domain babybundles is active, not sure if that is relevant.

Don't forget that you can trade in whatever business name you want, subject to any protected trademarks and 'passing off' names. If you are actually a limited company you must state that on your website and all company documentation, but it is common to have eg Baby Bundle as the trading name of Shelf Company Limited.

Don't think you can. Could also affect your trading if they had been dissolved after a bad period of trading.

I would Google a Company and look for "Check-A-Trade" and other recommendations.

The problem is that if one of those searches could turn up the previous company details and you would then be assessed on their conduct and behavior

You can call in Baby Bundles (Norfolk) Ltd, for official purposes and the just refer to the company as Baby Bundles.
