One point - you don't need disc specific rims. Non disc specific rims will enable you to use the wheels on a different bike at some point in the future.
Not unless the rear of all your bikes are 135mm you cant

Are road bike disc frames 135mm spacing? I didn't know that.

I believe the quote will be for

Novatec 771 hub (9 speed shimano on it at the moment, but future proofs it to 11 speed if I ever get silly)
Black spokes with black ally nipples (can't remember the type, but disc specific)
Black archetype rims.

The hubs are on back order, but he's hopeful it won't effect lead time, there will be a bit of wiggle in the quote as he's not 100% on the final price for the hubs, but it's all looking in the 3-350 range which has been approved by the keeper of sense in the household.

The Synapse is all black and white so the wheels should fit in, there will be a bit less white on them than before but I'll not be losing sleep over it. The Sirrus is all black and grey so the extra white on the Synapse wheels will bling it up a little when they go on but again, I'll cope.

Nice. have the Novatec hubs too.
David makes fabulous wheels, I guarantee you wont be disappointed. I have had 2 pairs off him now that have done many thousands of miles in all weathers and are still running true as they day I got them .

Nice,spokes are probably Sapim;lots of bods recommend that build for disc spec bikes and it'll all be easily re-buildable.

I'm in the process of getting something similar made up for the Planet X,already have the Novatec hubs(in blingy white!)that I picked up second-hand(although un-used)and just got to see a local builder and save up some dosh

Unfortunately white hubs for the disks weren't an option, I'm trying to keep the black and white theme of the bike as much as possible and it's much easier to get black stuff.

I think the white ones are only available direct from Taiwan which is why I snapped these up;still not decided totally on the rims but it'll either be the Archetypes or Velocitiy.

In fact Velocity have some new rims out which look nice,the Ailerons;
