They just do that.

Especially in the wet.

Unless you're noticing some degradation in performance, I wouldn't worry too much.

Getting them bedded in helps, but mine (5000 miles and 1000 miles on the pads in each case.) still squeal if the disc is damp.

Ok - they squeal pretty load especially when they are wet - the centre lock ones seems to squeal louder than my 6 bolt ones

also its the first time the centre locks have been used, so maybe the disc needs to be used a few times

cheers guys

If that doesn't help. Change the pads.
Get some semi metallic ones from DiscoBrakes.

That cured my squeal problem.

Loosen the caliper mounting bolts, then apply the brakes and then re-tighten the bolts with the brakes still applied. That will centre the pads and calipers on the disks and might stop the noise.
would i have to do that when i change the wheels back to the offroad ones???

IME the resin pads are far, far worse than the sintered variety. The quality of brake also makes a big difference. The Tektro hydraulic ones on my hybrid were almost unusable as they squealed and graunched terribly in spite of everything I or the supplying shop did with them. I tried the copper grease trick as that has always been the way with cars but it didn't really help. I would advise not to use copper grease on cycle brakes. Shortly after I tried it the caliper pistons got sticky and even after a full strip down they were still the same. I suspect the copper grease affected the seals somehow, maybe causing them to swell.
The cure in my case was to throw the Tektro crap in the bin and fit Shimano XT which have performed faultlessly and without attention for ages now. I fitted new pads about 6 months ago and again haven't touched them since! True fit and forget. The discs are the original ones for the bike so maybe Tektro or some other cheap tat?

My XT brakes squeal a little bit when very wet but otherwise are quiet in damp or dry conditions. The Tektro ones were awful if it was even foggy.

My suggestion is to try sintered pads or save that money and just upgrade to something in the Shimano range XT/SLX or THESE I have just bought for my sons bike and look suspiciously like trickle down XT (even take the same pads!).

Never had a problem with coppaslip on the pads with BB7's.
