I've gone back on the wagon diet wise.
My average net calorie intake is about 1300 cals on a normal day and a race day like yesterday it was 300 net.
Is it a good idea dieting and racing at the same time only because I want to drop another 20 kgs.

Ultimately, you will be fine, just keep an eye on yourself, as you should always be doing anyway, if you start feeling off, then re-assess the situation.

When I say feeling off, I mean chronic feeling off, not feeling a bit knackered during a hard training phase, this is normal and a part of over reaching. Don't fall into the over training trap, the magazines etc have everyone paranoid about over training, so people panic and think they are over training when they are simply tired from over reaching! If you over reach you will feel like crap for short periods of time (a week or 2), but as you recover during an easy week you will then feel good. Over training, is different, when you back off, you won't feel better short term.

I didnt have any problems dieting and exercising, just if I started feeling light-headed or feint at all, Id take that as an indicator that I hadn't eaten enough (probably protein). Im joining you as well as far as the wagon goes! Must set myself some goals.

Dieting and general exercise is not the same as dieting and training hard with racing performance as your primary concern!

I've been back on the wagon since Monday and at a race on Wednesday I blew up half way, ok the weather was awful but I had nothing left, I'm not over training and after 5 races I would have thought I would have gotten better.

This is a crit/RR I guess?

You might have gotten better, but given the very large strategic element and having other people dictate the pace etc, any improvements could be "hidden".

The other thing to remember is that every race is different. It's not like a time trial where you can reasonably accurately compare your performances. I've had best and worst performances almost back to back, even though I was physically at my best, someone else was better and just ground me down trying to keep with their attacks. Best thing to do is not dwell on it and move on to the next race.

If you have genuinely 20kg to shift I wouldn't worry too much about race performance ATM. Get rid of the weight and then start thinking about results. 20 kg will be a fundamental change. I find 5kg quite paradigm shifting.
