Bradley's progress in the tour got me interested in cycling again. first I got a cheap hybred and was quite happy till I stared to come on this forum! Now I have a triban 3 and am loving it. Seems most weeks now I hear 'What have you bought now?' from 'er indoors!! Was anyone else influenced by the win?

That shows your age! I am sure so many have been influenced by BW and thats parts of the reason for the resurgance in interest.
1968,RIP.
It is being termed the Wiggins effect, but there are several British riders at the top.Hopefully it will influence a few youngsters,& a few years time GB will have even more top riders.

No, the connection between his cycling and mine is too remote to influence me in any way.

I'm definitely watching much more racing these days but this is only partly because of the Wiggins effect. For a start, the sport appears to be much cleaner these days - I'd turned away from racing from the mid-80s because it seemed unbelievable. Second there was already a surge in British cycling (as both sport and leisure activity) - I guess the most obvious guy at the front of the wave was Chris Hoy. Third, the web and technology has enormously aided this surge: the interactivity of forums, the availability of live streams, the apparently addictive attraction of Strava, etc.

But it's good to feel a part, even if an insignificant part, of that wave.

Greg Lemond had already done it for me back in 1989. That man pretty much saved my life because I was gaining 1.5 stone a year and heading for an early grave until I got back into cycling!
