Posted a while back asking for advice about bilateral knee pain. Was given a diagnosis on Tuesday and I have now been admitted to hospital for chemotherapy for ALL.

If anyone has been through this it would be great to get some advice and stuff.

Thanks in advance.

Thats why I was asking if anyone has Ash's phone number as he had a similar thing a few years back. Spoke to him today on the phone and he gave me some great encouragement.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

YG if I had of known I would have got it from the office. Your fitness from cycling will strengthen you to fight it. Take care .

Glad to hear you've spoken to someone who knows where you're at - I'm another who can't offer any advice but wants to wish you well, and agree with the Jogger that the strength and fitness you have will stand you in good stead through your treatment.

I had chemotherapy in the 70s for blood cancer. It was pretty experimental in those days. Well obviousley I'm still here fighting my way up those hills every week and I'm told fit as the butchers [though doesn't feel like it to me]. And of course still an ugly sod. I was given the all clear many, many years ago. The docs said much of my recovery, in their opinion was a state of mind. I was an angry young man. I went running and riding the bike like a maniac whilst on treatment. Against medical advice of course. It's a long story. Now I'm an angry old man. My advice to myself if it happened again would be, be angry, bloody angry. PM me if you wish.

good luck. Jim

Was diagnosed with a Pulmonary Embolism a couple of days ago caused they say be the chemotherapy, so am having to take further medications to prevent complications from it. The bulk of my gandalfian beard is now gone (The Jogger knows what it was like ) and a wee bit of hair loss also. Probably going to shave my head today for the first time in donkeys years as my hair is normally half way down my back.

Started another chemo drug as well which they have to administer through your muscles which is bloody painful. Ah well..
