Describe a carbon ride

I traded up from my much loved Boardman comp aluminium frame to a full carbon Specialized Roubaix Pro recently & my feelings are that apart from the 3-4 lbs lighter weight (hills are a breeze now ;-) the ride is way smoother & much less fatiguing. carbon seems to iron out a lot of road buzz & harshness from crappy roads...
I've kept my alu/carbon 2010 Cube Peloton but have also invested in the last week or so in a Ridley Excalibur (Flandrien). My fastest comparable rides are on the Cube, early days I know. Entry level it might be, but I still love riding it. A neighbour told me that riding a carbon fibre framed bike for the first time would be a revelation. In terms of comfort (road buzz etc. etc) it undoubtedly is. He then said then it would in time just be your bike and in time you would be so used to it it would cease to feel different.
The Cube has a quoted weight of 9.2 kilos the Ridley around 8.0 (frame 995)g where the lighter frame comes into its own is when climbing. It will be interesting to see how I cope with the transition from a bike with a 9 speed Tiagra triple to a 10 speed Centaur compact. This I feel is the thing I need to sort out.
Love both bikes though. still very attached the Cube which is now my commute. In my mind it is too good for that sort of treatment, so MTB for commuting in a few weeks.

xxmimixx have you ridden a carbon bike - I didn't test but then I wasn't coming from drops

not yet, I am waiting for my lbs to get delivery of the new Cube bikes to test ride one, they are due end of October, but Iam in no real rush as Im going to use a MTB for winter rides/ training and this will allow me to save a little over the next few months to get a better carbon should I wish to
