Hi there

Total newb to the forum but have been cycling and maintaining bikes for longer than I care to recall.

Can someone please advise me on what freehub assembly I should buy as a replacement for one on a Deore/Mavic A319 rear wheel. The wheel is only four years old, but it failed yesterday halfway up Pycombe hill. I've pulled it all apart, but am not sure what the correct replacement part is. The wheel is from a Dawes Galaxy Super Tour with a 7 speed cartridge rear-set. I'm on a limited budget, so cheaper would be better.

Have a look at SJS cycles and look out for the same Deore hub, and use it as spares, ie pull it to bits. It's usually cheaper than trying to get specific parts. Just get the same model number

Thanks.

Just noticed a small mistake in my post; it's an 8 speed cartridge which might explain why google wasn't helping me much.

If you give a bit more detail about the hub we should be able to pinpoint which part you need. Is your hub a disc brake one? There should be a model number marked on the hub somewhere maybe something like FH-M475 or FH-M525

The tech docs these links go to show which freehub you need.
