I have found the armadillo elite better than all condition armadillos for punctures, but from Oct to end Feb i now run a mix of marathon plus at the rear and armadillo at the front,I have found this to be a good combination for this time of year

Mate of mine has recommended Bontranger race lite hardcase, he's done 2500 miles through Central & East London with no punctures so I've ordered a pair from J E James only £14 each I'll see how they go.

It would of been cheaper for me to by a month's season ticket on what I've spent on tyres and tubes

I like Gatorskins, but the wire bead versions are heavy.

I also like GP4000s, they're good, but I only use them on my best wheels for fast rides, they're grippy, even road debris sticks to them and flies off as the wheels go around.

For winter riding I'm using Krylions, they're very hard wearing, about the same weight as folding gatorskins.

I've been almost embarassingly lucky with my 28 and 25 mm Armadillos.

I'm sure to be getting my share shortly, I'm due thirty or forty punctures I reckon.

+1 for Specialized All Condition Armadillos. Tens of thousands of puncture free miles on the mean streets of Leeds, broken-glass-in-the-road capital of the world*.

* Or at least it seems like that.
Anybody tried to get these excellent tyres in 27 1/4"?
I would really like a pair for my old "racer", but although this size is advertized on US sites, I can't find any UK based suppliers
