May not be the best set of wheels on the market by they are certainly better than the current ones on my raliegh sprint and weigh a whole 500grammes lighter and stiffer too.

I have them on my secteur (but the came on a roubaix). They seem robust, still true and look good.

R500's arrived today - they look really good so i weighed them

Front - 830grammes
rear - 1050grammes

a hell of a lot lighter than the wheels that came as standard on the raliegh sprint - now for some lightesh puncture proof tires and tubes

any recommendations from you the crew???

Nowt wrong with R500s for the money....3 years winter commuting on mine, maybe 3000 miles, never laid a spanner on them, still running true and fast. You can do a lot worse than the 500s, but will struggle to do better for the money.

Conti gator skins or michelin carbon krylions (or whatever the new pro race version is).

Gators...
Not the highest puncture protection, not as good as Marathons perhaps, but Gators are light and fast.
Just trying to remember whether they're swines to get on and off Tiagras...don't think they're as bad as getting them off Fulcrums. So, theyre tight, but manageable.

Got a set on bike No.1, excellent value, taken a few pot holes, still true after 1500 miles.
I had a set on my Vanquish and they were bomb proof until i had a head-on with a bus but even after that i managed to true them enough for my father inlaw to do his 40 mile work commute!
