What is the percieved widom on the benefits of cut outs and grooves in the saddle, are they really more comfy or will a good quality 'solid' saddle be as comfy?
They are supposed to increase bloodflow and prevent numbness, which is said to lead to manhood problems
I've only ever experienced numbness once and that was when my saddle worked itself loose mid ride and the angle was massively wrong. I've not noticed any difference between a cut out and properly set up standard saddle. Some people swear by them though
I have the Specilized Avator. I got it because i couldnt afford a Toupe.
I've done alot of miles on it already and i find it very comfy. Together with some good padded shorts its very comfy.
Just goes to show how personal it is - my Avatar had me in unbelievable agony! In all my years of cycling, I've never felt so uncomfortable on a saddle.
