I refer you back to the comments about it. Its just a meaningless list of numbers that doesn't even appear to be on the web page linked as the source. I could no doubt construct a similar table showing how many more people were killed on the UK's roads every year in Ford Fiestas compared to Morris Minors but that is no indication whatsoever of the relative safety of the two vehicles.

I am not disputing that at all. However it was presented as evidence and not belief.

It was presented as evidence to support a belief, as shown by the fact that the OP left out the very pertinent part about the deaths not being head injuries.

You may be right,I read "As far as I am concerned that is the end of this conversation, it is turning into a personal row , and I have no wish for that. say what you like I shall not respond in future, unless it addresses the Op." as meaning that you were not going to respond in future, and that you had ended the conversation.
It seems I may have misunderstood.
Lets just recap that conversation:

You discredited the evidence but to my knowledge it was put forward in good faith.
Not so much a logical fallacy but rather a dispute over evidence and whether it was massaged to fit a belief or not.
AFS, that is fine as far as it goes, but the reaction when that "evidence" was shown to be meaningless was very revealing.

But you have said you are not disputing its a bunch of meaningless numbers so I'm not sure why you put it forward as an example of something that discredited the evidence against helmets.

First came the belief, then he went searching for evidence to support his belief, couldn't find any, so followed the "all the news that fits we print" ethos.
By you or the OP? Your statement referring me back the OP in response to my statement that no objective evidence had been put forward that discredited the lack of utility of helmet directly implies you believe the OP did discredit it. It would be much simpler if you just said "Sorry I made a mistake" rather than shovelling for Australia.
