I can see why you didn't choose English. No, "I have the feeling its going to rain" is not a question, there is no question mark!

Er On. I refer you back to the OP.
I refer you back to the comments about it. Its just a meaningless list of numbers that doesn't even appear to be on the web page linked as the source. I could no doubt construct a similar table showing how many more people were killed on the UK's roads every year in Ford Fiestas compared to Morris Minors but that is no indication whatsoever of the relative safety of the two vehicles.
I am not disputing that at all. However it was presented as evidence and not belief.

You discredited the evidence but to my knowledge it was put forward in good faith.Lets just recap that conversation:
RL: I have not seen the evidence on here against helmets discredited by objective evidence.
AFS: Er On. I refer you back to the OP. (with list of numbers)
RL: Its just a meaningless list of numbers
AFS: I am not disputing that at all. However it was presented as evidence and not belief.
(My emphasis)
Can you see the logical fallacies in your responses?
You discredited the evidence but to my knowledge it was put forward in good faith.
Not so much a logical fallacy but rather a dispute over evidence and whether it was massaged to fit a belief or not.
Valid point Ben.AFS, that is fine as far as it goes, but the reaction when that "evidence" was shown to be meaningless was very revealing.

It was put forward as a well meaning attempt to support helmet wearing. But you have said you are not disputing its a bunch of meaningless numbers so I'm not sure why you put it forward as an example of something that discredited the evidence against helmets.

The mistake I made is ever getting involved in this thread as I honestly do not care what others do or don't put on their heads.By you or the OP? Your statement referring me back the OP in response to my statement that no objective evidence had been put forward that discredited the lack of utility of helmet directly implies you believe the OP did discredit it. It would be much simpler if you just said "Sorry I made a mistake" rather than shovelling for Australia.
It was belief based evidence hunting!
First came the belief, then he went searching for evidence to support his belief, couldn't find any, so followed the "all the news that fits we print" ethos.
