Cyclist killed in London Bridge collision

A cyclist has died after a collision with a car on London Bridge on Saturday evening.

The collision happened on the southbound carriageway of London Bridge at about 7.30pm on Saturday.
The City of London Police said that a male cyclist had died as a result of the collision.
The London Ambulance Service posted on Twitter: "Our thanks to the doctor at the scene who started CPR while we were on our way.
"We arrived in six minutes.
"Our thanks to the member of the public who rushed to collect a nearby defibrillator.
"We are sorry the outcome was not better."
The bridge was closed to all traffic and pedestrians.
Bus services were diverted via Blackfriars Bridge.

This is right outside my office. The fact they closed both north and southbound traffic makes it looked like it happened in the middle. So the cyclist would have been overtaking busses at the big bus stop there, and/or the tourist coaches that crawl across the bridge for the views

They may have done that because the junction on the north side would quickly gridlock.

Looks like the cyclist was heading North, clipped the central reservation & fell into the path of a BMW heading South on the bridge. A very sad accident.

Aye, and I suspect they'll be looking at the north side for what caused such lateral movement across the island and into the southbound side.
