While such an offence would make sense (I mean, you'd have to have killed someone in the first place which takes some doing on a bike), I suspect that this will just end up as another Daily Mail vs The Guardian style argument with nothing actually happening.

10 deaths in 5 years caused by dangerous cyclists is miniscule compared to the number of people killed by dangerous drivers in that same period.

Not a single paper has mentioned that the victim was likely to have been standing in the road rather than on the pavement.

Personally, I feel that not only should this be covered already under the Manslaughter charge, but that creating more laws when only the minority are prosecuted is a waste of time.
