What I like about Davina's challenge was that I could imagine doing it, minus the swimming, so I began to empathise with her sobbing patheticness. Whereas, stuff Helen Skelton has done is so far out of my comfort zone I can only try to imagine how hard it was. So in the end, I've applauded her effort, especially in that weather. It wasn't exceptional but it was brave and a massive personal challenge, so hats off to her.

Start with longboarding and you'll soon get there I'm sure.

I do not doubt there are many fit triathletes that could do it, my eldest could, but he would not and I expect most would not in fancy it in February.

I feel it seems a lot of anti Davina going on here, rather than respecting the challenge and the person doing it, which is where I felt I had started the post from.

There is a lot of anti Davina going on and I, for one, can fully appreciate why. Her television persona is grating.
As I put to you way back, a thing does not have to be just one thing. It should be possible either to get beyond her persona and admire her effort. Equally it should be possible to get beyond advising her effort and acknowledge her inherent annoyingness.

So it is possible that although Davina on TV is annoying to certain people that she might also be a nice person to be with in real life.
