I even found out yesterday that the fairies can even sabotage your bike overnight. Fitted a new chain, tested it to see if the cassette needed changing, worked perfectly, been riding it for a couple of weeks since, worked perfectly on Saturday when I tested it for club ride Sunday , jumped on it Sunday morning and from the moment I got on, the chain jumped and skipped all over the place. I only had three sprockets the chain would not skip on and as it was a flat ride I was able to keep going on it luckilly enough, but I bet its thrashed my chain.

Fitted new cassette out of spares box and it works perfect.

Incredible how something can go wrong overnight. Also noticed whilst I was fitting the cassette, I had a flat on another bike, yet it was rock hard on Sunday (I check my tyres everyday religiously as I pass them during the day and alway night before a ride). .How can it have happened? only fitted new wheel, rim tape and innertube a couple of days previous and 30 miles ridden and not a mark on the almost brand new tyre........on removing innertube, found it had split at the seam.
