I hate to spoil a good story by adding a bit of harsh reality, but how many coaches do NOT have a ******* great diesel engine in the "boot"?

Dunno - maybe my local coach station is unique, in only hosting coaches with rear-mounted engines, and luggage doors/storage along the sides?

Coaches come in all types.Mid,rear and front engines.Generally coaches that are used in coach stations have rear engines to prevent passengers walking behind the coach and getting squished.

Most new coaches are rear engined now but there are still many being produced with mid engines.
So you haven't spoiled a good story, just shown that the general public know little about the vehicles that are on the roads.
