On Fenchurch street this morning about 8:30am, cars are all stopped and a driver leaves a gap for a lady to cross the road, blind cyclist travels at speed up the gap at the side knocks lady clean off her feet then makes to ride away, but he was collared by other people, was it one of you reprobates?

riding off is poor but the HC code is quite clear on the duty of road users to not take other drivers' signals that it's safe to do something as gospel

Anyone who tries to ride off after knocking someone over is a grade A f*ckwit who deserves the whip.

Got to agree there - that's just gutless. You've a duty to carefully overtake, the woman is owed a sincere apology at the very least.

sure but the accident is the ped's fault, granted the cyclist can try to prevent it but it's another example of all the other road users ignoring bikes and motorbikes when crossing, I certainly look again for bikes on the outsides and motorbikes in the centre when crossing the road

np-one else on here keeps moving when the traffic stops?

The point is though that they didn't stop after they had knocked someone over. I don't think the cyclist would have been blamed (too much) if they had stopped to help, but they left the scene of an accident.

It wasn't you was it Tynan?

She'll definitely look next time.

And the cyclist, hopefully, will slow down next time. And I hope the spineless imbecile feels pretty guilty now.

Oh, I forgot, they're not human beings, they're peds and they're a menace.

Did this tw@t think...

"oh the car in front has stopped. Why? I'll use my observation skills. Ah - there's a person crossing the road."

Or....

"I'm sooo cool....I'm part of the scene.....I'm an urban rebel......ha take that moton!......fukcing ped.....coooool.....me......"

We ALL have a responsibility to each other. No excuse. End of.

A combination of crap cycling, most likely by an inexperienced cyclist, and crap road skills by the pedestrian leading to the collision, quite possibly orchestrated by the car driver waving her out.

Leaving the scene of an accident changed things though so that he will now have to take the bulk of the blame, muppet!!

I always look out for peds when passing stationary traffic. We know that they aren't expecting cyclists so it's up to us to be more careful for their benefit as well as ours.

It's 50/50. The pedestrian has a duty to ensure the road is clear before crossing, and the cyclist has a duty to ensure the road is clear before overtaking.

Attempting a hit-and-run means the cyclist becomes massively more culpable, however. There is never an excuse for that.
