Cyclist in crash on A9 at Golspie

A cyclist has been receiving hospital treatment after the bike she was riding with a three-year-old child onboard was involved in a collision with a van.​

The 38-year-old was taken by air ambulance to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness following the incident on the A9 at Golspie in Sutherland.​

The child and the van driver were unhurt in the crash, which occurred at about 13:00 on Friday.​

Police said the woman was in a "serious but stable" condition in hospital.​

The A9 was closed for five hours while police carried out investigations at the scene of the incident.​

Police have appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
