Personally I think our Current National Road Champio should be a fair bit higher. Even if Cav and co. don't agree.

He's not exactly been that impressive the rest of the year, but that was a race featuring all of Britain's top riders, so I guess he deserves some recognition...

Well, one thing's for sure. If a list of the same nature had been produced when I started cycling there would have been one woman on it. That might have been unfair, but that's the way it was.

And one other thing. Victoria Pendleton at no.9. That may or may not be right, but if someone had done achieved what VP achieved in 2009 (which was, for her, a quiet year) twenty years ago, we'd be reaching for the smelling salts. Mandy Jones used to bring cycling on to mainstream Saturday afternoon telly, and commentators (I think Hugh Porter was Central TV's cycling guru) used to rave. Now we sort of used to it. It's a bit like watching cyclists commute in London - sometimes I have to remind myself how far we've come.

I'm sorry but you'd have to have Steve Peat up there, and probably the Athertons and Tracey Moseley too. The CW list is more than a bit tokenistic when it comes to MTBing. Britain has some of the best downhillers in the world and we don't celebrate their acheivements enough.

Rightly so, they dont have to pedal;)

Although, I will support any fellow Sheffielder, so keep Steve Peat on the list.
