Some of the questions were a bit too vague to be of use...
I do all my own repairs apart from wheel truing, or when I chose not to for convenience. My lbs is at the end of my street 200mts from my house. He charges a fiver per wheel and does it while I do some shopping.
Whilst I could true wheels myself it'd take me longer and the equip would cost the equivalent of 30 trues. All the while the lbs does a likely better job and last time changed the bearings for twoquid extra. I'd probably happily pay a tenner.
