I filed some old socks with charcoal and used to pop them in my boots when not using them. I used this to get rid of the smell of human wee in a room in a house I bought. Just bought a very large sack of charcoal and tipped it out. Week later the smell had gone completely.

I remember something similar on a consumer programme. The OP might just have to swap to a different brand as well.

I stuck my shoes in a bucket of warm water with soap and salt (usual kitchen salt). Let them dry outside, I don't do that newspaper stuff as I prefer fresh air to circulate around.

Just been told so dont blame me if it does not work , put backing soda inside dry cycling shoes and leave it there until you need them?
