Personally I don't trust a 'bike fit' done by a sales person. Once when looking at a Ridley cross the young lad measured me up and wheeled out my correct size and it fit quite well when I was in the saddle, however when I got off I couldn't reach the ground he was unaware of the difference in geometry between this and a road bike and the top tube almost ruined my married life.
Other factors beyond what should fit are flexibility, a pot belly, age and experience.
