I've just phoned and cancelled my subscription to Cycling Plus didn't want any hassle but was amazed when the woman at the other end said "Ill just take some details", post code etc and that was it, Ok sir that's done for you. They didn't want to know why, didn't try and talk me round or offer any deals and I've been a subscriber almost since the beginning. Pleased there was no third degree but thought they should have tried a bit harder. Maybe the sales team will get back later

Barnet,
I am thinking of cancelling my subscription. I think I have got to the point where I find I am not that interested in high end bikes/equipment any more. Even Roger St.Pierre has gone as a columnist which I used to like his reminiscences about the past days. A friend of mine who subscribes to a bird watching mag has got to the same point with his magazine, ie, binoculars/ telescopes. I have subscribed for many years after Cycling Today magazine went bust, which at the time I thought was a better read. Maybe it is time for a change. Cycle active maybe?

LOL dream on. at £10 a qtr what are you expecting?
Cycling has become huge of the past few years and the circulation of the magazine has gone up.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
You mean you do not cancel every year then resub for the gift which covers the cost of the mag?

Although i have enough coats and hats so i am hoping they will have a better gift this year or i will be looking at cycling active .

I've had a couple of emails from them since I cancelled my trial subscription. The first was a survey on why I'd left, and the second was a "special" offer if I came back to them, which was actually a worse deal than I could have got as a new subscriber.

I had a long discussion over a few years as to why it was a lot more expensive (and no free gift) when I renewed. I pointed out one year that it was £30 more expensive taking all this into consideration than if I was a new subscription. Even removing the free gift value there was still a 20% difference in price!

As result I would cancel each year and a different family member take it out.

I must have the only cat n the world keen enough on cycling to subscribe to a magazine!

I think you're getting mixed up with what it's like trying to cancel your subscription to Sky TV!
