I used to like cycling+ but in the last couple of years the interesting articles are now few and far between. The size of the mag has gone down and now they are pandering to the people that spend thousands on their bikes. Training wheels for £1500? I paid that for my most expensive bike!

Most of my cycling pals spend a lot on bikes, more so it seems if they retired from the right job, I know of a few in their seventies riding £4,000+ bikes.

Why not - you can't take it with you . The mags are all a bit samey. You're paying a lot for what is basically an advertising leaflet in most cases. I mean - magazines - so 20th century - there's so much online you just dont need all that expensive glossy paper to fill up the recycling bin.

For years I eagerly awaited Wednesday/Thursday's arrival of The Comic, aka Cycling Weekly, but then it ran down its reporting of races replacing them with endless stuff about sportives. The only cycling mag I get now is the one that comes with the CTC membership.

I prefer Bikes etc. Find it more informative but then again each to their own.

Same here;get Cycling+ on the odd occasion but they can be a bit samey with the choice of bikes, don't think I've sen an issue without a Giant,Canyon,Cannondale,Boardmanor Specialized in it*.

Did subscribe to Cycling active but found that got samey after a while;currently have Bikes etc,Cyclist,Rouleur and Pro Cycling on subs and only got Pro Cycling because of a good Lezyne light offer.

*This may not be true:whistle:, it just seems like it:rolleyes:

I buy a copy of Cycling Plus as holiday reading for me & my boys. Otherwise, it's available as an e-reader free of charge via my public library membership so I can read it on the PC at home.

I subscribe to cycling plus, cycling active, cyclist, cycle sport and pro cycling. Sometimes get cycling weekly when I've run out of mags to read. Was tempted with bikes etc but think 5 mags a month is enough!

I always buy a copy of Cycling Plus at the airport when going on a 2 week Africa trip. It lasts perfectly for 12 morning on-the-bog reading sessions. Unless I get a bad tummy, that is....

My first cycling web forum is always Singletrack, which is much funnier than CC and far better on obscure stuff, which has nothing to do with cycling at all... there's always somebody there who's done it before you and can advise, no matter how bizarre or unusual the problem.
