Yes, I suppose it would. My one sits nicely under the shirt, in a rather cravattish manner, (but not often). It does ride up the neck a bit more than a cravat though.

I bought a buff expecting to just use it around my neck on a cold day. However, I'm a full convert now, liking both the pirate hat and beanie hat.

They're so good/versatile, I even wore it for warmth whilst cleaning out our chickens and then for a walk in the woods with my son the other day....
