Hi Ninne,

The route you have picked through Hull, going along the A63 and onto the Humber Bridge, is extremely busy with frieght traffic. There is a cycle path to the left of it, I will try and find a link for it, so you can see where to come off.

Ok, here is the council's map.

there is a route that goes on the rivers edge, south of the Clive Sullivan Way but it is sometimes overgrown.

When are you planning to make this trip?

hehehe, sounds like all kinds of trouble in one go  Last summer I was doing a trip I had planned for quite some time, horseriding from oslo to trondheim in Norway, I was supposed to do the trip on my own but agreed to take a friend that insisted to come with. We had been on our way for...... 1,5 days when the complaighning got startet  She lasted another 3 days before she was on the vurge of a total panic attack and I managed to get her and her horse situated near by.

So, I will have to be REALLY sure someone is up to it before I take someone with me for something like that again, hehe.

Was suposed to be a supported ride but that meant the tents being put up only. Were left high and dry re water stops [would have taken additional water otherwise]. Also loads of heavy drinking. Worst was it was a charity ride. Two girls only rode about 10 mile in total but collected the money had had cheak to complain when I was pissed off. Would do it on my own in a heartbeat [if I had enough kit]

If I did do something like that again with company I would make damn sure 1. They were upto it and 2. I wasn't tied to them.

I don't know if its been said but some A roads have no cycling by laws, you probably wouldn't want to cycle on them anyway. I usually pick out mainly B roads or lanes (labled yellow on Ordnance Survey maps) joined up where need be by A roads (red on OS) and stay away from the A roads labled green (trunk roads) and of course don't cycle on motorways (blue on OS). You also have www.sustrans.org they have an almost complete signed network across the UK but it varies in quality and isn't alway the most direct. Have a good time on your trip.

The North Sea Cycle Route runs all the way down the East Coast as far as Harwich. I would follow that as far as Kings Lynn, then head across the Fens to Ely and Cambridge using minor roads, then on to London.

In theory, you could cycle straight down the non-motorway parts of the A1 road, but you really wouldn't want to do that.
