2009.....

Ride daily where possible

Do over 3000 miles.

Maybe do some local TT (never done any before, don't want to look a berk, but have got to start somewhere?)

Lots of early morning rides (go to bed early - get up at 5, do a couple of hours, shower, then ride to work)

LEJOG in June.

Who knows, get on a ferry in Hull with a bike and panniers and go for a jaunt in Belgium/Holland

One of the abiding memories of my 2007 ride from Hebden Bridge to Coventry was the looks on the faces of my mother and sister when I told them what I'd done. They thought that I'd brought the bike down on the train and had just ridden a couple of miles from Coventry station. They looked absolutely gobsmacked when I told them that I'd done the whole trip on the bike .

Same as Will in one respect- sub 23 minute 10.

But I'll not be trying the sub 1 hr 25, I'll stick that one at 1:02:30.

Do another 50 and try a 100.

A few more cross events, but I haven't got any specific goals except to be a bit less crap.

Maybe I'll HONC.

To try and get my cycling club to be a proper cycling club rather than just for those who like riding slowly for a short distance. I have already started with getting a new kit designed and ordered, next is the development of a webpage, and trying to get momentum for TT, track, MTB and a few faster club runs. We have quite a good few who ride audax and are interested in developing ideas, but there are some real hurdles to overcome first - but maybe they'll die before I need to ruffle feathers .

Looking to do;

Dragon Ride
Tour of Wessex
Cent Cols Challenge
Do at least 1 road race a month
Finish 09 as a Cat 3

As for mileage, no limits or anything just enjoy pushing the boundaries and seeing how I feel afterwards.

My rather modest objectives are :-

Do a metric 100 per month

Get under 70 mins for the Richmond Park Three Lap Challenge

Not sure of all the targets yet as lots of dates for things not out and I don't know yet what I can afford to do. But some are:

Do enough races in the North West Cyclocross league to qualify for overall positions (this was my first year trying cross and I loved it)
Enter some open time trials and improve on the two 10's I did last year, maybe riding out to do the local one this year.
Complete another 12hour mountain bike race solo.
Ride a 24hour mountain bike race solo.
Ride an imperial century every month (done the metric this year)
