I used to have the strap ones, but find that these toecap ones are ideal for me - I don't need a lot of power, I just like to be able to keep my foot in the optimum place, and to be able to pull the pedal up to a good pushing off point when I stop and start - but be utterly secure about getting my foot out in a hurry, and be able to wiggle it about a bit.

I do have SPDs - on my recumbent trike. Doesn't matter on that whether I get my foot off the pedal when I stop, and it stops the risk of a foot slipping off and being sucked under the trike at speed.

Simple solution is to learn to track stand and never take your feet out....


okay, maybe that's not simple, or a solution :smile:
