In which learned journal has this study been published? I presume the work has been peer reviewed?

I have never noticed that effect, so I was curious. I can't find the original study. I did find a mention of what seems to be the same study in the Washington Post, but it even has a different University. I'm shocked at the errors in such a well known peer reviewed journal, Ironman Body Building.

* Vigorous exercise facilitates physiological sexual arousal in women, according to a study by Cindy Meston, an assistant professor of clinical psychology at the University of Texas at Austin. Her research on 35 women who watched a travel film and an erotic film on two separate occasions--once after cycling vigorously for 20 minutes--found that in the presence of a sexual stimulus, vigorous exercise appeared to have a "kind of priming effect," increasing blood flow into vaginal tissue.

So, it doesn't actually arouse a lady, it just makes her more able to be aroused. I rarely sit down and watch a porno immediately after a ride, so this could be true. On the other hand, cycling suppresses all my other appetites (food, drink, sleep) so maybe I'm an outlier.

Found this one from the Journal of Abnormal Psychology (yes, really!), published in November, 1996.

The topic appears to be a particular research interest of one C. M. Meston, as she is on the author list of both this one and the UT study @jefmcg found

I know women are "plumbed" different to us MAMILS, but this is next level stuff. Certainly doesn`t happen on the male front, not here anyway, that is the last subject on my mind when on the bike!!
