I have read that now you can order just safety equipment and accessories through Salary Sacrafice.

Anyone done this ? My helmet is 5 years old now and I had it originally on the scheme.

Would like to order a new Helmet, Brakes and a Cycle GPS thing and maybe some more clothes/gloves for winter

There's a £100 minimum for any safety equipment. It all depends upon whether or not your employer and the operator they use will let you take advantage of this change. Safety equipment is not defined in legislation but the Department of Transport have indicted that it can include the following:
  • Cycle helmets
  • Bells and bulb horns
  • Lights including dynamo packs
  • Mirrors and mudguards
  • Cycle clips and dress guards
  • Panniers, luggage carriers and straps to allow luggage to be safely carried
  • Locks and chains to secure the bike
  • Pumps, puncture repair kits, cycle tools and tyre sealant to allow for minor repairs
  • Reflective clothing
  • White front reflectors and spoke reflectors
So no GPS, or parts such as brakes.

Suppose it's better than nothing might just sneak a set of brake pads in the basket though !
I can get some new lights maybe and mudguards for the hybrids and when I called the company they said tyres - Well they said whatever is needed to get you safely to work !

Ah when I add things to the basket on the website whatever is eligible for salary sacrifice goes into one basket and other stuff into another.
So I can buy waterproof gloves but not waterproof socks
