Well I went to Wiggle and got a Shimarno pair of Shimano MT33 SPD Leisure Shoes Black Which On first glance thought would be to big (as I take a size EU44 most of the time) But just to be on the safe side I went for the EU47 size and found that they are ok and fit really well so am well chuffed, so I in fact went from a size UK 9 to an 11 UK size But I do have wide feet! Well I need them to Stand up mostly!
So having got the two sets pedals ( one set for the Triban 3 which is still out of stock I see) from them and the SM56 cleats I'm all set for practise in the cleats, so get yourselves ready for some clipless tales soon

P.S I did try on some muddyfox SPD SL shoes at a major sports chain store, but they seemed to reflect the quaitly in the price tag
