I was conversing with a colleague who has just taken up road cycling in Texas. He casually mentioned about carrying his sidearm with him. It genuinely never occurred to me that someone might carry a gun whilst cycling.

I was thinking of taking up bike jacking myself. Should I join a gang or do you think that a more informal bike jacking group would be suitable?
A good local gang like the Staple Hill Samurai will have a friendly beginner mugging group, a "social" Sunday morning group, and an elite group for those fit enough to tag along on the more challenging robberies. Try to find one that's welcoming to new members and includes other disciplines such as gluesniffing, graffiti tagging and shoplifting. It's a broad church and you don't want to tie yourself down too early. Hope this helps.

It's sad that we have all these problems on our streets, it isn't just on Bath to Bristol route, there have been the same happenings on the Busway and cycle route in Cambridgeshire,, and I suspect other relstively affluent areas as well.
The response from the Police Service , was to say we are putting g a police presence in the area, a bit after the horse has bolted that.
And the Police presence was a parked up patrol car ,without any personal in it...... hardly going to deter the oiks ,once they are wise is it.?

Well they don't have time machines, so anything at all they can do is after the fact once it gets reported to them.

That does seem rather odd.

I am in Essex , and the local 'sink' hole estate was having a social disturbance by these I'll mannered yoofs, ......and it's very true , that this was Essex police's response , just parked up a knackered old patrol car as a "'Police' presence, ..... It's lateral thinking, but like a rat trap, once sprung it doesn't work a 2nd time.
Another ploy to curb speeding is they will park a camera van up.on an over bridge ,it's in manned but occasionally lights are set off , as if a speed camera has been set of, whether or not that is legal I don't know, but they do need to be shown to be calibrated.

I think the Kent Kickers get better reviews than the Tonbridge Thugs
