Finish Line Ceramic - have yet to find a better lube.

But is it Finish line Ceramic Wax lube, finish line ceramic dry lube or finish line ceramic wet lube?

As the others said, wet (high-viscosity) lube in general is inconvenient, because dirt sticks to it really well. Low-viscosity lube is better, but just has to be applied more often. I generally use White Lightning's "Epic Ride" lube, but have tried various others also.

Dry ceramic wax. Use it very sparingly, a drop per link with a cloth underneath to catch any excess, then use the cloth with the "wet patch" to wipe the chain to distribute the lube even,y over the chain. You'll need to reapply it after every wet ride, but otherwise it does a great job of stopping stuff sticking to the chain in the first place.

Thanks. This is good advise. I purchased the following. I am assuming this is a Dry lube although it doesn't actually state "Dry" but there is a similar product that does state it is "Wet" so I have assumed the link below is a "Dry". If not what is it?

Yes, that's the stuff. Shop around, you should be able to save ten bob or so over Tredz price

Cleaning, I'll only ever use water, never found a need for anything added. Lube, Finish Line also my choice. One drop only on each pin, gauge the drop so there is no excess. Excess oil is just a waste of oil.

I used to use this. Very expensive and really not that good well I thought it was good at the time until I decided to try chainsaw oil from a suggestion by some one on here forget who but it costs only £4.99 a litre and it is so much better and stays on the chain for ages. Only a week of very heavy rain washes it off. If it's dry weather it is at least a couple of months between a clean and a re-lube and I ride a lot of miles each week. To clean chain I take it off and use engine degreaser.

I negate the need for pedal grease unless completely dry, but i use wd40 or white lightning to clean the drive, then i oil it up with rock'n'roll chain lube, it is waxy so works well in my dusty unpredictable climate.

I've just ordered a stand of eBay for £27 if you do a search on these forums you will find it as a fair few people have them, I looked into making my own but for the price it wasn't really worth it.
