I'm sure that all the people who cycled to Wootton Bassett with me yesterday would agree when I say don't get a garmin 605. Wrong directions all the time

I've just bought a Bell 20 Function wired. Very cheap with ave speed, max speed, temp, distance travelled, etc. So far so good.

I have Cateye Strada Cadence on various bikes of mine and my children.

They may not make that one any more, but they are simple, seem tough and they do what it says on the tin.

They tell me all I need to know and nothing I don't want to know.

Do you have any of the add-ons? I had never heard of them until I saw your post, but have had a look at the Pro, with the cadence/speed sensor. It looks very good value compared with other gps ones.

No. The mapping is pretty accurate but basic eg. only a breadcrumb trail for following a route. But I looked at it as a speed computer with gps functions, not as a garmin rival.

It is a good app and I used google maps a fair bit before getting the Holux. BUT it has been raining heavily every time I've been out for 2 days and while the phone will map inside a pocket/bag whatever I can't actually look at it there conveniently while riding.

The phone is great for route finding and a map when I get (frequently) a bit lost but it and the Holux are different animals. I like both of them.
