Cutting my soil pipe. Can anybody help?

They will be a hundred miles away for at least 27 hours. All I have to do is stick down the lavatory seat above with yards of gaffer tape in case I forget.

Are all the copper pipes water pipes though?

There appears to be an earthing wire(usually fitted to gas pipes) on the pipe second closest to the one you want to cut.

Earth conduit cable to the sockets, left of picture and out of sight. Don't worry.

How about that risk of rats...
