If the cut is not to deep I fill small nicks with super glue. I don't know if it's still available you used to be able to get a product to fill small nicks in tubs. Not sure I think it was called tread stop.I have just noticed the attached cut in my front tyre, is this anything to really be worried about or just one of those things? I haven't done anything to try and find how deep it is...
The lady gives great advice. Get it changed.Does it go through? How many miles have the tyres done? If this is the Ride London bike, personally I'd put a new tyre on, I'd take no chances for the sake of a tenner for a Vittoria rubino
Just get a new tyrestrava says its done 472 miles. and yep it is the ride london bike. I havent taken it off to see if it goes all the way through, but as you say it may not be worth taking a chance on.
Vickster is right. That's too much to risk on a big ride. Get yourself some cheap ass rubinos and relax.
Oh, and what's going on with your footwear? What looks like Ikea flipflops, and casually abandon motorcycle boots? Is this a cross post to a foot fetish site?
Just get a new tyre
You don't want to have to pull out of RL due to an avoidable bike issueyes boss.
Pump it up to the maximum pressure stated on the tyre sidewall, then inspect. If the tyre is bulging at the cut it means that the underlying threads are damaged too. If the threads are damaged I'm afraid it is a bin job. If the threads are OK I'd replace it, but keep as an emergency spare for when you need a tyre quickly but can't get to a bike shop.I have just noticed the attached cut in my front tyre, is this anything to really be worried about or just one of those things?
