Looks nice - not too strenuous although I'd have to ride to the start from Kendal and back again at the end which would add another 50km or so. Might as well round it up to the ton

I rode this last year. It was brilliant. The weather was absolutely freezing, in places I doubt the temperature rose above zero all day, however it was still and, IIRC sunny, the reflections in the lakes were so stunning I can see them now. The route had to be altered and the start delayed at the last minute because of the conditions. I'm told a big climb was avoided due to ice. There was a tough climb, for me, at the beginning but after that it was all undulating rather than hilly (I realise we all have different views on this!). Saying that if I hadn't met up with a couple of decent guys, one from Glasgow and one from Kendal, the last 10-12 miles would have been very tough. I hadn't appreciated how the cold can sap your energy and make you tired.

I did cramp badly at one point because I didn't drink enough which was because of the cold. Won't make that mistake again.

I think it was me that you rode the last few miles with from Ambleside to Grasmere. The climb they missed was Red Bank which is quite short but very steep. I too remember the reflections from the lakes, stunning
