Cube peloton race

hi guys i have just purchased a cube peloton race,such a lovely bike .I would like to which pedals to put on it.I i am not into racing but would do 70 miles on a saturday morning on my own,i just love getting out in the open air and being free from everything

I'm sure there is a sticky thread somewhere about pedals, but I can't just find it right now.

IMO you really do benfit from using clip pedals, which type is largely down to preference, confidence and budget, (and bike snobs might also add, type of bike, but we'll ignore those people shall we? )

SPD - probably the most popular, MTB oriented, but perfectly at home on a road bike too. Easiest to use as the standard versions are double sided. Also easiest shoes to walk in of that's a consideration.

SPD-SL - dedicated road version of SPD pedals. What I use now on all my bikes. Can take some getting used to as they are single sided entry. Shoe and cleat combo make these impractical if you need to walk.

There are loads of others too like TIME, LOOK, SPEEDPLAY etc, but the two above are probably the two most popular versions IMO.

I went SPD-SL on my Cube Agree GTC, and now find it very odd to ride without clipless. I went for the Shimano 5700 SPD-SL, those or the R540 which are a little cheaper. You get much more efficient ride, and never worry about your feet slipping on the pedals.

I use SPD-SL's and love them. Started off with SPD's as I couldn't afford the pedals and shoes at the same time as buying the bike and already had SPD shoes for the MTB.

You very quickly get used to them.

I use SPD-SL on both my main road bikes. It took about 6 weeks to get used to and now I'd not be without them.

The MTB and 4th choice road bike still have straps and I use trainers with these but I always notice the difference.

I jumped straight in one or two clipless moment but feels strange without. Believe!

Spd-sl on the road bike. The connection between you and the bike is amazing. Takes a while to get totally comfortable with them, and you will invariably fall off once or twice. I wouldn't ride that cube without IMO
