Definitely form over function,
That's why I want one, that's why I ride a metal 1962 scooter not a modern plastic one that is better in every respect apart from it's aesthetic appeal, the latter doesn't have any. Anyway, I do have other bikes..........but I want a cruiser to bumble along the canal to Leeds drawing admiring glances from all the footpath traffic.

I never thought of classic Vespas as form over function. They're the purest distillation of function over form...
They've possibly looped round the other side. One of my neighbours runs a mid-70s Vespa. He looks cool as f*ck going to work in the morning - parka over his suit, fag hanging out of his mouth...

Also lack of any cabling, and single speed dropouts on rear.
