Jammy bugger! I really fancy one of those. Let's have your thoughts on riding it.

Well, it's been a bit of a saga but worth it in the end. After picking up the bike on Saturday from the aforementioned useless shop I discovered that they hadn't added either the replacement tyres or guards that I asked for.

'You can't get guards to fit that bike' they said.
'Oh yes you can' I said.
'No you can't and we haven't got any tyres to fit it' they said.
'Never mind, I'll go somewhere else' I said.

Allied to the fact that my 4 year old nephew could have done a better job at the bike setup I duly dropped it in to my LBS of some 35 years who were only too willing to sort it. Guards fitted, tyres changed, rack on and away I went....

....and it's absolutely wonderful. The most comfortable bike I have ridden. Only complaint is the saddle which will probably have to go but otherwise am happy with it and knowing it will be an all purpose bike that will last me for years. :bicycle::bicycle::bicycle::bicycle:^_^^_^^_^

The 2015 range looks tasty too.
Would love that titanium one!

I've had mine for 18 months now - 4,500 miles (mainly commute 12 each way). On collection the LBS had fitted SKS/Bluemell full length guards. The front stay attached to the rack mounts on the fork, helps to avoid the brake. I fitted a Topeck rear disc rack. and changed the front wheel to fit (SJS built) SP dyno hub powering B&M lights. I run Schawlbe Durrano plus 32mm.
The saddle took a little while to break in but after 4 months one of the rails snapped, the replacement did exactly the same so now have a B17 narrow. Which hasn't broken it's rail but also hasn't broken in, it might help if I treated it.
The rear wheel went out of true three times finally with a spoke break but has stayed good for the last 8 months or so.
I was tardy on a chain swap so eked it out for over a year before changing large ring and sprockets. So far only had to adjust the brakes, though I must actually do a check on how much front pad depth I actually have left for peace of mind. I love the BB7s.
I do have a creak which I'm not sure if it's rear wheel spokes flexing, chain. or something else.
Despite it being approx. 2 mins slower on my commute than my previous Dawes Giro 400 I do like it. Lots.
