It's good to know that at least some of us care about county cricket.
Sadly it's not the powers that be.

It's a good job Lyth and Brook turned up as no other of our batsman did.
Starting the CC this early was always a bit ask and in the Kookaburra ball which after a few overs it may as well be made of paper.
Is not going championship cricket any favours.
Had to judge really as it was a strange innings, yes Bean and Masood were out cheaply on day 2, but are judgein anyone on one innings? Resuming on day 4 it was then just a 20 odd over thrash to get a bonus point -192 runs were scored @8.3 an over - which Lyth & Brooks batted the vast majority of, and leave enough time to pick up the bowling over rate.
Absolutely agree on this, they were 177-7 early on day 2, and then 215-8 before they ran riot. Hard to blame all of that on the soft older kookaburra ball. Had we shot them out for 220 then we could have put a lot of pressure on them, although would still have probably run out of time, who knows? It happened a few times last season too IIRC, not finishing a side off having got them under pressure.Leicestershire got let off the hook in the 1st inns.
This is my dad aged 60 celebrating winning the indoor championship with a table top handstand at Lords the home of cricket.
He can still do it at 71 and is vice captain of England over 70s outdoor cricket team.

Tricky morning for batting, but at least all games underway this week.
Root has gone cheaply in Bristol, and no he wasn't attempting a reverse ramp shot.... 😭
Same at Chelmsford where we need to take six wickets as well.Let hope there is enough dry between the showers in Bristol for Yorks to take the 6 wkts they need to win, positive batting yesterday moved the game on well, although maybe a tad conservative on the declaration.

What are you talking about?
and then presumably score over 400 runs to actually win the game?
In truth Essex will presumably declare if play becomes possible
Hopefully we can knock them over with the score needed we've the freedom to mix it up about and go all out attack. Though we've seen in past we can't finish off sides when it matters. If we can't knock over a side like Gloucestershire then it's time to go home.
The only thing we can't control is the weather only time will tell on that one.
