Help, help, help
Set off out today and immediately under load, cornering load creaking noise from my Cube x race. Stood up on pedals and leant bike over to right side and its creaking like an old door.
Back home I found that if I hold the frame and push hard on side of wheel the spokes creak badly all round the wheel and its the same noise as when riding.
Checked wheel roughly for trueness and its a little out but nothing bad.
Bike is about 7 months old and low miles. I was out 2 days ago with no problems in 24 miles other than a little creak now and again, washed bike, put away and now this....
Any ideas anyone ?????????
Thanks
Paul

My first thought is for the spoke tension, Check it against someone else's wheel as a rough guide perhaps? Drive side is always tighter than non drive. As to a 'bit out of true' I like to keep wheels within 0.5mm, but that's just me:rolleyes:

Dirty water trapped between the spokes & hub would be the place to start. Just soak a bit of thin cloth in clean water & work it between the joints. Then use a hair dryer to get a bit of heat into it.

Thanks for the advice, I will start with cleaning the joints tomorrow and see if it helps. Seems a good place to start seen as it only happened after I washed it.
Rusty bearing - I noticed spinning the wheel and watching the brake block it looked out in one place, so using the advice on here I will try true it up
Thanks again ^_^

+1

I had this - wd40'd the spokes and it got it sorted.
