crash involving riders and race vehicles

Sure, and at the minute, the race goes on like nothing happened and people see it as part of racing. We need to make it disrupt the race for the organisers so that they'll start to take it seriously every time, instead of the current rubbish where it tightens up for a few races after a bad incident and then it's back to the same old problem again.

It's up to the riders innit, was there not a stage in one of the desert tours in recent seasons where the riders refused to race due to the heat. Merckx IIRC was involved in the negotiation.

I know G hasn't complained because he knows the rules as they are know, but in most other sports if the ref or officials accidentally intervene then they try to sort it. If the crash was with road furniture then fair game, but for a police bike to cause it by stopping unexpectedly it is different.
