Good call Vickster. Will try and pop in over Xmas. Bikes parked up for two weeks anyway now.
Hopefully they will have an Xmas sale and I can look to buy a new track pump while I am there.....

Gave the pedals a good spin backwards when I washed the bike today and they ARE loosening up .
Just need the gears adjusting, so theres no derailer rub , and the noisy brake sorting now......

I will be too busy running , got a couple of 10k races and will go out for a few leisurely trots.......
May well go for a long ride once I have got a track pump to blow the tyres up ! . Be nice to cycle without a 4kg back pack on !

Well it pains me to say it but the Halfrauds guys were spot on again today!
Sorted the rubbing on the derailer/adjusted gears and did a few other bits too a
which they talked me through.
I actually took out a 3 year service policy which includes free fitting of any parts purchased from them in that time. They didn't even mention it to me but I saw it advertised on their website, there was no hard sell.
All in all I have had a very good experience with Halfords Bilston and I thought it only fair to post on here as they, as a company, get so much bad feedback on here.
As people have posted before , I think it depends on which branch you deal with and I am only speaking for Bilston.

Good result - but can't help thinking that maybe the gears etc should have been adjusted at the time you bought it. You can't have ridden it enough for cables to have stretched, or for other things to wear and lose adjustment.

Totally agree mate in fairness to you. I have only done about 300 miles.
It was a minor issue and they dealt with it with no fuss or bother though. I KNOW its what we should all expect in this day and age but we rarely get the service we deserve.
The lads there were courteous and knowledgeable too.
