What about turning the existing rings around to use the unworn face of the teeth? It's worth a try before shelling out, if you're trying to do this on a budget.
The chainring is probably milled at the bolt point to fit steps in the spider, so it would probably have to be machined to fit. There's budget and there's budget!.

I think for about £50/60 you could get a complete crankset which I would do rather thank shelling out £35 for just the outer chainring. The crank is heavily scuffed already, a new one would look much nicer!
Oi, naar then, There's nowt wrong wi' t'crank. Am not forkin aat 60 quid for summat wot in't bust. Money daan't drain, that is.

Bit of detective work. The link to your bike showed that it runs a 50-34 compact Tiagra chainset. It's 5 bolt, 110 BCD, confirmed by the photos you posted. On the CRC link I sent you look to the right of the picture. The picture is actually of the 34T inner ring, but the link to the right shows two types in stock, and the lower of the two is the 50T outer for £34.99
Thanks again for your help.
What do you think? - Should I delay putting the new chainring on until the next chain replacement, so that they mesh well? I will probably be replacing the cassette at the same time too.

No, don't delay, unless you have a very good relationship with your dentist. There will come a point where you're standing on the pedals and the chain decides to skip more than an inch or so, in which case you will be tasting your stem.

If I were you I would make sure the chain is within wear limits (first indication on your new chain wear indicator). If so then it'll be fine. The cassette looks newer than the chainrings, and doesn't appear too badly worn. If you're happy swapping it just to be sure then do so. A new chain would be 15 quid's worth of peace of mind!

I have an allez elite, and am suffering problems with the non-drive-side crank arm coming loose. Am trying to overcome this at the moment, but if I fail to i'll try to claim on warrenty.

The interface is a spline, and uses the 2 bolts you see on the outside to hold it on the axle. Try tightening these and see if the problem goes away (if only for a while)
